The expression THE THIRD TIME IS THE CHARM is used to say that two efforts at sth have already failed but perhaps the third will be successful. Here are some examples:

Two years ago our vacation was canceled. Last year we had no money to go anywhere. But, you know, the third time is the charm, so hopefully this year’s vacation will make up for the two we lost.

– There’s no point trying anymore. I already tried twice. – Well, I think you should give it just one more try. The third time is the charm, as they say.

Her first husband was a violent man. Her second husband cheated on her. And now she met this guy from Ohio. He seems all right, so maybe the third time is the charm indeed.

I’ve missed twice so far. But the third time is the charm. I’m going to score now.

His first job was a disaster. His second job was only slightly better. But now he works for a big company and is really satisfied. So, the third time was the charm.
