I like sports. Not only watching, but also doing! Today we’ll be talking about sports venues. A sports venue is the place, like a building or another object, where you hold sporting competition.

Some sports do not require a special place and can be done or played virtually anywhere. An example is soccer. You can play it practically on any lawn or even on the beach. Other sports do require special places. Ski jumping is difficult without a hill for example. There definitely has to be a special place for each and every sport in professional sport. This is what this article is about.

So, here are some of the most common types of sports venues. First you can watch the video version and then you can read the article.

And now let’s see where professional sports are done or played. Many a sports venue is shared by more than one discipline. So, without further ado, let’s just jump right in and see some examples.

A Sports Venue for Any Sport You Like

Let’s start with some team sports. You play football, soccer and baseball on a field:

You play two other team sports, volleyball and basketball, as well as an individual sport, tennis, on a court:
