Today we’ll learn some vocabulary related to rainy weather.
The sky got dark and thunder rumbled in the distance, although we didn’t see a flash of lightning yet. Anyway, we had to run home. There was no time to lose.
It poured all week and the river overflowed its banks.
I still remember that thunderstorm. A tree in my backyard was struck by lightning. But, even worse, my dog was struck dead by a thunderbolt.
It was a rainy day. I was so happy I didn’t have to go anywhere. I love the sound of the rain pelting the windowpanes so I just turned off the light, sat down by the window and watched.
Heavy rains flooded the village. Most of the houses were at least to some extent destroyed.
