Today we’ll be talking about nouns with the suffix –Y. We sometimes create such nouns from adjectives ending in –t.
Let’s have a look at some examples.
difficult → difficulty
This math problem was really difficult.
I had difficulty trying to solve it.

honest → honesty
She’s an honest person.
She also demands honesty from all her friends.
dishonest → dishonesty
What he did was rather dishonest.
He was accused of dishonesty.

modest → modesty
He’s a modest young man.
He accepted the award with modesty.
immodest → immodesty
It sounds very immodest of her to say so.
Her immodesty puts people off.
