Today we’ll be talking about nouns of recipience. These are nouns derived from verbs that denote the recipient of an action. They are often created by adding the suffix –ee.
Let’s have a look at some examples:
employee – someone who is employed
interviewee – someone who is interviewed
payee – someone who is paid
evacuee – someone who is evacuated
lessee – someone who has a lease on something
trustee – someone who has been given responsibility for managing someone else’s property or money through a trust
honoree – someone who is being given an honor
